
Prof. Stephen Odebero Pledges to Move Technical Education and Training to the Next Level as He Takes Over as Ag. Principal MMUST TVET Institute!
Prof. Stephen Odebero has been appointed as the Acting Principal of the MMUST TVET Institute for a period of six (6) months, with effect from today, 10th March, 2025. While officially receiving his letter of appointment, Prof. Odebero pledged to take Technical and Vocational Education and Training to the next level, adding that under his leadership, he will ensure that MMUST contributes significantly towards the growth of TVET enrollment in Kenya.

“I thank the MMUST Council as well as the entire University Management for appointing me to this position, and assure them that I am equal to the task at hand. I commit myself to working with stakeholders particularly those in Bungoma and the neighboring Counties to ensure that we develop TVET,” said Prof. Odebero. He added that he is determined to see MMUST become a Centre of Prior Learning Qualifications, helping people with skills acquire formal certifications based on their experience. “We want this institute to be able to identify the skills and knowledge of individuals like mechanics, masons, car spray painters and electrical technicians so that we can provide them with the necessary qualifications. We also look forward to equipping trainers in technical training colleges with pedagogical skills in order for them to teach more effectively,” he said.
Prof. Odebero is stepping in as the new Ag. Principal MMUST TVET Institute with vast experience, having served in a number of technical training institutes in the Country. We congratulate him on this appointment and wish him all the best as he embarks on this role!
